Parts guide

Here’s a handy guide to all the component parts of the Tommee Tippee Baby Food Blender and how they fit together.

Setting up your baby food blender for the first use:

Before first use and after every use, wash the bowl, lid and knife blade in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.

  • The bowl, lid and knife blade are dishwasher safe (top shelf only).
  • Wipe the base with a damp cloth but DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER.

WARNING! Handle the knife blade with care as it is extremely sharp

Assembling the food blender:

  • Place the bowl on to the base, lining up the bowl tab to the locking bowl slot.
  • Turn the bowl counter clockwise until it locks into place.
  • Slide the knife blade down over the shaft and turn until it drops into place.

WARNING! Be careful not to touch the blade as it is extremely sharp.

  • Place the lid onto the bowl, with the extended tab on the same side as the base slot and turn the cover counter clockwise into the base slot as far as it will go.

WARNING! For your safety, this unit has both a lid and bowl safety interlock system. The baby food blender will not operate unless the extended tab on the lid is correctly located inside the base slot and the bowl is locked into place on the base. Do not attempt to operate without the lid being in place correctly

Note – The baby blender is designed for small batches of food

How to use your baby food blender

  • Remove the lid and place food in the bowl. Do not fill the unit past the 250ml line. (This baby food blender is designed for processing small quantities of food).
  • Place the lid on the bowl and turn to lock into place.
  • Use the speed control dial to select slow or fast speed and blend for a few seconds until food reaches the right consistency.
    • For coarsely chopped foods, use a repeated short pulsing action until it reaches the right consistency.
    • Larger amounts of food may need more time to process.
    • WARNING! Do not operate continuously for more than 1 minute. The blender is designed to run for a maximum of 1 minute at a time.
    • After operating your baby food blender continuously for 1 minute, let it cool down for at least 2 minutes before using it again. Keep hands and utensils away from the cutting blade while chopping food.
  • If your baby food blender doesn't operate, check that the bowl locking tabs are properly positioned, and that the lid is aligned properly. These parts are designed to lock into place.
  • Make sure that the blade has stopped turning completely before removing the lid. Unplug the unit, remove the lid and carefully remove the blade by holding the connected plastic stem. Carefully pull the knife blade straight up. Remove the bowl and empty the processed food. Do not use the food blender bowl for storing food.

Operating times and speed settings

These times are guidelines only, the time needed to blend sufficiently will depend on the type of food you are blending. Adding a little bit of cooled water will aid blending and help give a smoother consistency.

Can I sterilise the bowl & lid?

The bowl, lid and blade are not suitable for sterilisation or being placed into boiling water, as this can cause damage.

Can I put the bowl or lid in the microwave?

Sorry no – no part of the baby food blender is suitable for the microwave.

Can I blend large batches of food?

The baby food blender is ideally suited to small batches of food, (less than 250ml – marked on the bowl). We recommend using it in short pulse bursts. Pulse for 1 minute, then let it cool for 2 minutes. After operating 4 cycles, please let it cool down to room temperature before using it again. If you place 250ml of food into the bowl in one go, you may need to process it for longer.

I can't seem to get all the lumps out?

Lumpy food isn’t everyone’s cup of tea… Try adding a little bit of cooled water when blending to help give a smoother consistency.

How to clean your baby blender

WARNING! Handle the knife blade with care as it is extremely sharp

  • Before first use and after every use, wash the bowl, lid and knife blade in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  • The bowl, lid and knife blade are dishwasher safe (top shelf only).

The bowl, lid and blade aren’t suitable for sterilisation, including being placed into boiling water, as damage can occur.

I can't seem to get all the lumps out?

We’d recommend adding a little bit of cool water when blending to help with a smoother consistency.

My lid/bowl are damaged - what can I do?

Warping/ general damage is linked to the parts being steam sterilised, placed into the boiling water or the lower part of a dishwasher, or placed into the microwave. Excess heat can cause damage in these situations.

To keep your baby food blender working in tip top condition, just use warm soapy water or use the top shelf of the dishwasher to wash the bowl, lid and blade.

There's no power - Is there anything I can do?

If your baby food blender isn't working, first check that the bowl locking tabs are properly positioned, and that the lid is aligned correctly. These parts are designed to lock into place for your safety - if they're not, your blender won't power up.

If your lid is securely locked into place and it’s not powering up after you’ve already blended some food, let the machine cool down for a little while before trying to use it again. Your baby food blender is only designed for small batches and needs a bit of time to cool down between blending cycles.
