Pear & Blueberry Puree | Stage 2

Pear & Blueberry Puree | Stage 2

INGREDIENTS

• 1 large pear

• 1 oz. blueberries

METHOD

Wash, core and chop a large pear, add to the Quick-Cook with the blueberries.

Steam for 15 minutes. For a softer texture blend in the jug.

For a more solid texture drain off any excess water then blend for 20-30 seconds.

INGREDIENTS

• 1.5 oz. pear

• 1.5 oz. broccoli

• 1.5 oz. peas

• 1.5 oz. zucchini

• .35 oz. spinach

METHOD

Wash and chop the vegetables.

Add to the Quick-Cook and steam for 15 minutes.

For a softer texture blend in the jug.

INGREDIENTS

• 1.5 oz. chicken breast

• 1.5 oz. carrot

• 1.5 oz. parsnip

• 1.5 oz. broccoli

METHOD

Dice the chicken breast, add to the Quick-Cook and steam for 10 minutes.

Wash, peel and chop the parsnip, carrot & broccoli.

Add the vegetables to the Quick-Cook and steam for a further 15 minutes.

Drain off any excess water and blend for 20-30 seconds

Banana & Blueberry Smoothie | Stage 2

Blueberries are full of antioxidants which protect your baby from bugs by boosting their immune system. Banana is a great energy provider too. Great for the start of weaning or to stir into natural Greek yogurt as a dessert for older babies.

 

INGREDIENTS

• 2.5 oz. blueberries

• 1 vanilla pod

• 1 large banana chopped into small chunks

METHOD

Open the vanilla pod by scoring down the length and scrape out the seeds.

Add the seeds and pod to the Quick-Cook along with the blueberries and steam for 15 minutes.

Remove the vanilla pod and allow to cool.

Add the banana and blend for 30 seconds.

Pasta Bolognese | Stage 2

Beef is one of the best sources of iron, one of the critical nutrients that babies need during the second 6 months of life.

 

INGREDIENTS

• 1.5 oz. minced beef

• ½ clove garlic

• pinch of oregano

• .7 oz. onion chopped

• 1.5 oz. tomato sauce

• 1.5 oz. grated carrot

• .7 oz. grated zucchini

METHOD

Add the minced beef, diced onions, grated carrot, oregano and garlic to the Quick-Cook and steam for 10 minutes.

Drain the excess water and stir to combine.

Add the grated zucchini and tomato sauce and steam for a further 15 minutes

Blend for 2 minutes if your baby is at the start of weaning or 5-10 seconds if you are further along.

Serve with cooked pasta shapes.

Cauliflower & Cheesy Broccoli Puree | Stage 2

A great way to introduce your baby to new flavors. Broccoli and cauliflower are two bitter vegetables that should be introduced early in weaning when taste buds are less mature. Don’t worry if you can only find parmesan made with unpasteurized milk, the steaming process will destroy any bacteria in the cheese.

INGREDIENTS

• 1.5 oz. broccoli florets

• 1.5 oz. cauliflower florets

• 3.5 oz. whole milk

• 1 oz. parmesan cheese

METHOD

Add the broccoli, cauliflower and cream to the Quick-Cook and steam for 10 minutes.

Stir and add the parmesan cheese.

Steam for a further 5 minutes then blend for 2 minutes for a smooth puree or 5-10 seconds for a coarser texture.

The spices will infuse into the pear during the steaming process giving your baby some new wonderful flavors and filling your kitchen with a wonderful warming aroma.

INGREDIENTS

• 2 large pears

• 1 clove

• 1 star anise

• Pinch of cinnamon

METHOD

Peel and chop the pear into small cubes and place all ingredients in the Quick-Cook.

Steam for 15 minutes.

Remove the clove and star anise then blend for 15 seconds for a smooth puree.

Sweet Potato & Cheesy Kale Puree | Stage 2

Sweet Potato & Cheesy Kale Puree | Stage 2

Kale is one of nature's superfoods, it contains vitamins A, C, iron, fiber, calcium and a load of antioxidants. It can be quite bitter though and so combining with sweet potato and carrot works well.

INGREDIENTS

•  3.5 oz. sweet potato, peeled and diced into small cubes

•  1.5 oz. carrot, peeled and diced

• 1 oz. kale, stalk removed

• Pat of butter

• 1 oz. cheddar cheese

METHOD

Place the sweet potato, carrot, kale and butter into the Quick-Cook and steam for 15 minutes till the sweet potato is tender. Add in the cheese and steam for a further 1 minute then blend for 30 seconds.
